Solomon 2nd in Czech Republic

Trinidad and Tobago’s Jarrin Solomon continued his fine run of form with silver in the men’s 400 metres event, at the Josef Odlozil Memorial meet, in the Czech Republic, on Monday.

Solomon got home in 45.51 seconds, his fastest clocking this season and the third fastest of his career.

Czech Republic’s Pavel Maslak won Monday’s one-lap race in 45.40.

On Saturday, Solomon triumphed at the Cezmi Or Memorial meet, in Istanbul, Turkey, in 45.83 seconds. And one week earlier, he clocked 45.72 to finish second at the Atletica Geneve meet, in Switzerland.

On Saturday, at the New Jersey International Invitational, in the United States, double Olympic bronze medallist, Lalonde Gordon secured silver in the men’s 200m in 20.82 seconds. Guyana’s Winston George clocked 20.59 to grab gold, while bronze was bagged by Grenadian Joel Redhead (21.07).

Gordon finished ninth in the men’s 100m final in 10.56 seconds. Adam Harris topped the field in 10.16—a new Guyana national record. In the qualifying round, Gordon topped heat four in 10.63.
