Jones takes 10,000m gold at Sagicor

Richard Jones won the opening event of the NAAA Sagicor/NGC National Open Track and Field Championships when he clocked 30:58.33 in the men’s 10,000m run at the Hasely Crawford Stadium yesterday evening. Jones, running unattached, edged T&T Road Runners’ Kelvin Johnson (31:14.14) and Simplex’s Curtis Cox (31:32.47) to take the top honour. The meet will continue this afternoon and conclude tomorrow.
