Mason Hall Police Youth Club 10k Sunday

THE Mason Hall Police Youth Club (MHPYC) will stage a national 10k Road Race on Sunday, July 14.

The race will commence from the Shaw Park Sporting Complex and finish at the Mason Hall Recreation Ground.

Starting at 4pm the runners will make their way from Shaw Park towards the NP Gas Station before turning right onto the Claude Noel Highway into Rockly Vale and through to Old Road.

From there it will be straight into Mason Hall where they will turn right on to Easterfield Road to the finish point at the recreation ground.

Runners can be registered prior to the race at Sports & Games, Burnett Street, Scarborough or on the day of the event from 2:30 pm. A prize of $2,500 courtesy TSTT awaits each male and female winner. Second place will receive $1,700, third position gets $1,400 and $1,000 goes to the fourth place finisher.

Participants in the under-19 age group and the over 50 age group will get respectively for first, second and third, $500, $300 and $200, both for male and females.

The MHPYC is hoping for a return in making the road race an annual event as the last time they held one was more than two years ago.
