T&T athletes out junior ‘Pan Ams’

rinidad and Tobago will no longer be fielding a team in the Pan American Junior Track and Field Championships in Medellin, Columbia this weekend.

This was confirmed yesterday by secretary of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) of T&T Allan Baboolal who said that “the funding did not come in time.”

Asked to confirm that the team were no longer going to take part in the event, Baboolal said: “The team not going. Late flight arrangements. The funding did not come in time. When we were looking for the flights, we could not get flights.”

Asked when they tried to get flights, he said: “I can’t recall when the tickets were booked, but like on Monday, we could not get flights so we had to pull back the team officially.”
