D’Arbasie big winner at Carifin awards

Wendy D’Arbasie of Central Bank was one of the big winners at the 22nd edition of the Carifin Games Prize Distribution Function at the Conference Faciities, Central Bank last Wednesday as lots of cash, trophies, hampers and vouchers were given away. D’Arbasie walked away with $1,800 and a trophy for her first place finish in the Cross Country Run and also took home the top prize for the best overall female runner. Simon Kalechstein of RBC won first place for the best overall male runner, taking home a trophy, nestle hamper and voucher.

Other winners on the day included Falomi Marcano-Henry (female aerobics), Kieron Hart (male aerobics), Cherilyn Cadogan (overall female walk), Deodath Harrikissoon (overall male walk) and Nikosi McLeish. McLeish won the male cross country title for a record fifth time. Many of the attendees expressed their pleasure at the event. D’arbasie said “It was an entertaining evening, appreciated the number of prizes I received.”

Janeal James, Ms. CariFin 2013, also gave the evening two thumbs up. “I found that it is yet another great event by the Committee, it was really good.” she remarked. The success of this year’s games left everyone excited about future Carifin Games. Aleem Cassim, IBL Corporate Manager Human Resources, said “I enjoyed it tremendously, I look forward to supporting and participating in CariFin Games next year.”
