Borel’s father passes away

Raymond Borel, the father of national shot put record holder Cleopatra Borel, has passed away. Raymond Borel was also a field athlete in his younger days. His funeral service takes place on Tuesday, from 10 a.m., at the St. Peter & St. Paul R.C Church, Church Street, Mayaro. Following the funeral service, he will be buried at the Radix Cemetery according to Anglican rites.

Borel was married to Marcelle Betty Borel, and had five children—Natasha, Cleopatra, Oji, Thandi, and the late Ray Jr.
