TT ATHLETE Keshorn Walcott earned a silver medal at the Kuortane Games in Finland, on Saturday.

Walcott just missed out on gold after landing the spear 86.64 metres. Finishing ahead of Walcott was Neeraj Chopra of India with an effort of 86.69m.

Grenadian Anderson Peters settled for bronze with a top throw of 84.75m.

TT sprinter Michelle-Lee Ahye finished fifth at the Paris Diamond League at the Stade Charlety in Paris, France. Ahye stopped the clock in 11.07 seconds.

Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won in 10.67 in a new meet record and also equalled her world leading time. She broke Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah's meet record of 10.72 which was achieved last year.

Finishing behind Fraser-Pryce was Daryll Neita of Great Britain in 10.99 and Marie-Josee Ta Lou of Ivory Coast was third in 11.01. Just ahead of Ahye was Ewa Swoboda of Poland in 11.05.

Walcott, Ahye and other TT athletes are competing around the world in preparation for the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA, from July 15-24.
