It was a repeat performance and a birthday gift for Cougars sprinter Reneisha Andrews completed the sprint double at the National Association of Athletics Administrations of T&T's (NAAATT) second Pan American Under-20 Championships and Pan Am U-23 Games preparation meet at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-of-Spain on Sunday.

The 17-year-old who celebrated her birthday on Republic Day (Friday) scored victories in both the 100 metres and 200m dashes at the meet in preparation for the upcoming U-20 Championships carded for next month in Chile and the U-23 Games in November in Cali, Colombia, in November/December.

Andrews clocked a faster time in both events compared to the previous weekend, speeding to the 100m victory in 12.26 seconds from Jingle Campbell of Mason Hall (12.94) and Cougars clubmate Karessa Kirton, who finished third in 13.08. Ashawntae James of RSS Phoenix was fourth with a 13.26-clocking.

Andrews returned two hours later to register the time of 25.51 for her 200m success. Malika Coutain of Point Fortin New Jets (PFNJ) finished second in 26.50 with James, third in the time of 27.00. Kirton finished fourth in 28.25.

Last weekend in the NAAATT's first prep meet, Andrews won 100m in a time of 12.61 on Saturday and the following day sped to victory in the half-lap event with 25.93.

In the men's version of the 100m event, Revell Webster of Concorde repeated his performance of the first trial when he took the event in the quicker time of 10.84, compared to last weekend's 11.18. Josiah Peters of Phoenix Athletics chased him home in the time of 11.01 with Deondre John of Stallion, third in the time of 11.03.

With Webster not participating in the 200m event, the door was left open for his clubmate Jordan Pope to win but Kennel Christopher and Josiah Rayside of the University of T&T (UTT) Patriots had other ideas.

Christopher registered the time of 21.99 to win from Rayside who was second in the time of 22.40. Anthony Diaz of PFNJ was third in the time of 22.54 with Kester Richards of Fulfillingathletic Potential in fourth in 22.61.

In the U-23 event over 100m, Cyrus Charles of PFNJ was first, in the time of 11.17. He finished ahead of the Stallion athlete Mark Hamilton who registered the time of 11.20 with Zion Charles of Fulfillingathletic in third in the time of 11.40.

Over on the field, in the U-20 women's discus throw, Brianna Percy of Tobago Falcons beat her teammate Allesha Lindsay by .05 of a metre when she posted a distance of 35.05 metres.

Allesha Lindsay was golden in the U-20 shot put event when she landed the object 11.20m. She was ahead of Jinell Campbell, whose best effort was 11.06m. Percy was third with her effort of 10.50m.

Diaz was the winner in the men's U-20 javelin event with his best throw measuring 60.55m. In second place was Nathaniel Mathura (El Do East Secondary) with 60.30m.

Anson Moses of Tobago Falcons, the lone athlete in the U-23 men's javelin event, threw the spear 51.21m.

In the men's U-20 long jump, Aaron Antoine of Neon Wolves won with 7.15m, in second place was Savion Joseph of UTT Patriots with 6.96m and in third, Jean-Jon Mathews of Health Olympians with a 6.13m-mark.
