Walcott bags bronze at ISTAF Berlin

Two-time Olympic medallist Keshorn Walcott bagged a bronze in the men's javelin at the ISTAF Berlin meet in Germany on Sunday.

The Olympic 2012 London champion and 2016 Rio bronze medallist in the event, threw a modest 79.78 metres at the World Atheltics Continental Tour Silver track and field meet, to finish behind Germany's Julian Weber with 84.90m and Japan's Roderick Genki Dean with 80.69m.

This was Walcott's second-podium finish in a little over a week after winning gold at the Spitzen Leichtathletik at the Stadion Allmend in Luzern, Switzerland on August 30.

The T&T javelin thrower launched the spear 84.82m to top the event at the World Athletics Continental Tour - Silver ahead of Latvian Gailums Patriks with 83.30m and the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) champion USA's Curtis Thompson with 82.87m.

Walcott copped silver at NACAC Track and Field Championships held at the Freeport Stadium in Grand Bahama on August 20. His best throw then measured, 83.94m.
