T&T clinched four medals - three silver and a bronze - on the second day at the 50th Carifta Games in Nassau, Bahamas on Sunday.

This increased the team dressed in black, red and white tally to 10 at press time, having entered day two with six medals (1 gold, 2 silvers and three bronze).

After a disappointing morning session on day two with T&T picking up no medals, Kaleb Campbell got things going for the national team, copping a silver medal in the boys' Under-17 high jump with a clearance of 1.87 metres.

This country's other medals came off the sprint relay teams - two silvers and a bronze.

First, the girls' U-17 4x100m quartet placed second with 46.18 seconds behind Jamaica (45.36) and ahead of the Bahamas (46.43). Then, the Girls U-20 unit crossed second in 45.35 to follow Jamaica (44.01) to the line. Bahamas bagged the bronze with a 45.55-timing.

The boys' U-20 sprint relay team raced to bronze in 40.83. Jamaica took gold in 39.68 and Bahamas, the bronze, with 39.78.

This after a disappointing morning session of day two for T&T as the team dressed in black, red and white picked up no medals.

Jinell Campbell was among the best finishers for T&T on the second day of the premier youth track and field meet in the region. She placed fifth in the girls' Under-20 shot put event. The 19-year-old best throw measured 12.83 metres. This was in the sixth and final round.

Javelin thrower Kenika Cassar and long jumper Andrew Steele placed seventh in their respective events at Carifta50.

Cassar's best throw measuredÊ41.20m in theÊgirls' U-20 javelin while Steele leaped to a mark of 7.16m on his best try in the third round in the boys' U-20 long jump.

In the evening session, T&T's middle-distance runner Aniqah Bailey missed out on a medal in the girls' open 3,000m, placing fourth with a time of 10:51.79 at Carifta50.

Foreign-based sprinter Sanaa Frederick sped to a comfortable victory in semifinal heat one to reach the final of the girls' U-20 200m dash. Frederick, the reigning 100m bronze medallist, progressed to the medal race as the fastest qualifier with a 23.49 clocking.

T&T's other sprinter Janae De Gannes just missed out on the finale after her fifth-place finish in heat two. She clocked 24.53 seconds.

Sprinter Joshua Mascall is also a finalist in the boys' U-20 200m dash. This after progressing from the semifinals as an automatic qualifier after placing third with 21.64.

In the semifinals, Mascall, running in lane five in heat one, clockedÊ21.70 to place second. Revell Webster who was also scheduled to compete in heat five did not start.

Alexxe Henry, the reigning girls' U-17 100m bronze medallist, and Kaziah Peters did not advance to the girls' 200m final.

Henry placed fourth with 24.61 while Peters ended in sixth spot with 25.28 in the second semifinal heat.

Natasha Fox and Keneisha Shelbourne missed out on medals in the girls' U-20 400m hurdles, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Fox clocked 1:0029 and finished ahead of her compatriot Shelbourne, who got across the line in 1:04.12.

Kaori Robley also got a chance to race for a medal in the girls' U-17 400m hurdles. The 16-year-old, running in lane seven, finished fifth with 1:09.18.

Stefan Camejo and Nathan Cumberbatch were automatic qualifiers for the final of theÊboys' U-20 800m. Camejo topped heat one withÊ1:53.64 and advanced with the fastest qualifying time. Cumberbatch clockedÊ1:56.38Êto progress with the third quickest time among the finalists. The final is scheduled for today at 5.25 pm.

On Saturday, T&T closed with a gold from Immani Matthew in the boys' U-17 long jump, two silver from Dorian Charles in the boys' javelin and Peyton Winter in the girls' U-17 shot put and three bronze from Sanaa Frederick in the girls' U-20 100m, Jaidi James in the boys' U20 high jump and Henry.
