No medals for T&T in the morning session of day two at the 50th Carifta Games in Nassau, Bahamas on Sunday.

Jinell Campbell was among the best finishers for T&T on the second day of the premier youth track and field meet in the region. She placed fifth in the girls' Under-20 shot put event. The 19-year-old best throw measured 12.83 metres. This was in the sixth and final round.

Jamaican pair Britannia Johnson and Britannie Johnson top two spots with 14.54m and 13.74m, respectively for gold and silver. St Lucia's Joy Edward bagged the bronze with 13.53m.

Javelin thrower Kenika Cassar and long jumper Andrew Steele placed seventh in their respective events at Carifta50.

Cassar's best throw measuredÊ41.20m in theÊgirls' U-20 javelin. Guyana's Anisha Gibbons won the gold medal with 47.96m. Korann Colet of French Guiana was the silver medallist with 45.32m and Bahamian Vanessa Sawyer was the bronze medallist with 43.37m.

Steele leaped to a distance of 7.16m on his best try in the third round in the boys' U-20 long jump. Winning gold was his namesake Andrew Stone of the Cayman Islands with a mark of 7.54m. Demario Prince of Jamaica got the silver medal with 7.44m and Bahamian Mateo Smith, the bronze with the same mark of 7.44m.

Over on the track several athletes progressed to the next round in their respective events carded Sunday evening.

Alexxe Henry, the reigning girls' U-17 100m bronze medallist, and Kaziah Peters moved on to the semifinalsÊin the girls' U-17 200m. Henry finished second in heat two withÊ24.43 toÊprogress as an automatic qualifier. Peters was third in the fourth heat with 24.98. The semifinals are at 4.30 pm.

Joshua Mascall is a semifinalist in the boys' U-20 200m. Running in lane five in heat one, Mascall clockedÊ21.70 seconds to cross in second place.

Revell Webster who was also scheduled to compete in heat five, did not start.

T&T's Natasha Fox and Keneisha Shelbourne advanced to the final of the girls' U-20 400m hurdles. Fox crossed second in the first of two heats with a time of 1:01.52 while Shelbourne finished third in the other semifinal heat with 1:02.86. The final is scheduled for 4.15 pm.

Stefan Camejo and Nathan Cumberbatch were automatic qualifiers for the final of theÊboys' U-20 800m. Camejo topped heat one withÊ1:53.64 and advanced with the fastest qualifying time.

Cumberbatch clockedÊ1:56.38Êto progress with the third quickest time among the finalists. The final is scheduled for Monday at 5.25 pm.

Following action on day one, Saturday, T&T closed with six medals - a gold, two silver and three bronze. A gold from Immani Matthew in the boys' U-17 long jump, two silver from Dorian Charles in the boys' U-20 javelin and Peyton Winter in the girls' U-17 shot put and three bronze from Sanaa Frederick in the girls U-20 100m, Jaidi James in the boys' U20 high jump and Henry (girls' U-17 100m).
